There’s nothing I don’t like more than a good list. And, the feeling of crossing something off a list is sublime. It’s time to start a list, or maybe lists, of what need to be done during the next year to take this adventure. There’s a great deal to do. I’m not a closet mountaineer who just needs a visa. I’m starting from scratch.
That’s right…as soon as I pick myself off this couch.
What in the world do I need to know? do? prepare? Don’t panic! I just need a list of the lists I need to make. Here goes…
>Background (Nepal, Everest, Buddhism)
>Social media to follow (blogs, twitter)
>Sites (background information, etc.)
>Medical needs (preparation and during the trip)
>Physical training/conditioning (gym, nutrition, sleep, etc.)
>Equipment needs (boots, trekking sticks (?), clothes, toiletries, etc.)
>Packing list (for trek and post-trek)
>Addresses (printed on labels for postcards)
>Trekking companies (including pricing and reviews)
>Music for my iPhone (multiple playlists)
>Paperwork (passport, visa, will)
>Travel plans (plane, ground, hotels)
Even for someone who loves lists, this is a bit overwhelming. Okay, one step at a time. I have a feeling this may be my new mantra!
Okay guys, what am I missing?
